Nicolas Y Galeazzi (Switzerland):
Institute for Artistic Side Effects

The official festival observer Nicolas Y Galeazzi will observe, collect and archive everything that the festival contaminates him with. All collected specimens will be carefully categorised and evaluated in his research station. Finally, they will be encoded, falsified, censured, or not released at all.

The research station is principally closed. Only “initiated informants” will be allowed access to parts of the archive. However, it is very simple to become an “initiated informant” – please just drop by!

As festival observer, Nicolas Y Galeazzi is himself a side effect of the festival. All “initiated informants” also automatically have an effect on this chain of side effects.

Nicolas Y Galeazzi
After studying directing in Zurich, Nicolas Y Galeazzi staged his own theatre projects and worked as an actor, singer, set designer and musician, both as a freelancer and in theatres in Switzerland and abroad. An uneasiness regarding the aesthetics and content of classical theatre practices brought him to performance art, which he “mainly misuses as a research instrument to answer his vital questions about life”.
