Nadine Schwarz (Zurich): Steistäge
20 children, one choreographer and one flight of stairs. The children approach the audience with reduced, simple movements. Nadine Schwarz adopts the movement impulses of the children that appear during the rehearsal process. A choreography develops over several days; a choreography that the children have helped to develop and where they themselves stand in the spotlight.
Concept, Direction: Nadine Schwarz
Performance: 20 children from Zurich
Nadine Schwarz
completed her contemporary dance training at the School of Toronto Dance Theatre and the Rotterdamse Dansacadamie. She has danced (among others) for Angelika Ächter and Hideto Heshiki. Even during her training she began to develop her own choreographies and collaborated on projects with various artists such as Marianne Engel, Nicole Schwarz, Sofie Wandeler, Fabian Suter and Allison Peacock. Her work has been shown in Canada, Holland, France and Switzerland.
In recent years, Nadine Schwarz has been working more and more with amateurs, who have a range of movement very different to that of a professional dancer, and lets these ideas influence her pieces: “Ei nander” was created in the context of 12 MIN.MAX. in the Tanzhaus Zurich und was performed by a set of identical twins, a mother and her daughter, and two sisters, while residents of the Entlisberg Care Home performed “Die Herbstzeitlosen”.
